Today June 27, 2020 saw the final funeral rites of the late Bishop Bernard Nyarko. The Kumawood actor has starred in over 500 movies and was a favourite of many movie fanatics. He will be remembered for his choice of words, biblical allusions and words of wisdom. His movie combination with Akrobeto cannot not be forgotten
Always posing as a strong figure in movies, it broke hearts when it wasn’t announced that he had passed away.
On May 2, 2020, the Ghanaian entertainment industry was served with the heartbreaking news about the demise of the talented actor, Bernard Nyarko, who is affectionately called Bishop after he battled illness for some time.
Even though his demise has seen a lot of his colleagues and Ghanaians pay glowing tributes in his honour, the same cannot be said about how his family has dealt with some issues.
Early on, his brother (Isaac Darko) was engaged in a media ‘war’ against some top actors and actress who supposedly were not there for Bishop Nyarko at the time he was ill but suddenly started show care when he died.
Well, ahead of his final burial we are picking up some negative information as some sources close to the family in a chat with zionfelix under cover of anonymity alleged that all is not well even with his children.
We were told that the children of ‘Bishop’ Bernard Nyarko, a gentleman and two ladies are suffering a lot financially.
Flagbearer of the Opposition National Democratic Congress, Mr. John Dramani Mahama has reacted to the ruling by the Supreme Court on the compilation of a New Voter register for the conduct of the 2020 Elections.
He has expressed dissatisfaction in the ruling of the Supreme Court, indicating the party disagrees with the decision of the seven panel members of the Supreme Court. He says the NDC is disappointed in the ruling.
He however urged Ghanaians to go out in their numbers to register and exercise their franchise in the 2020 elections.
“The supreme court gave its ruling in case brought by the NDC against the EC over its decision to compile a new voter register. Despite the genuine reasons we gave, the court has excluded the existing ID as proof of citizenship for the for the compilation of the new register. We disagree with the court with this outcome. Our Legal team is examining the decision,” he indicated in a live broadcast a while ago.
He expressed dissatisfaction in the Electoral Commission’s current posture indicating, the commission has allowed itself to be used by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP). In May this year, the main Opposition Party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) through its lawyers sued the Electoral Commission of Ghana at the Supreme Court on a decision by the commission to compile a new voter register.
The NDC had made several arguments on why the Electoral Commission must not be allowed to compile the new voter register. One of its numerous arguments was the fact that the exercise is unnecessary and will involve a lot of money.
The NDC prayed the court to stop the commission from compiling the new register and subsequently asked the court to allow the commission include the existing voter ID card as a proof of citizenship, should it go ahead to compile the new voters register.
After the first hearing in court, the NDC decided to drop the suit imploring the court to stop the commission from compiling the new register.
The case which was left in contention was for the court to compel the commission allow Ghanaians to use the existing ID card as a proof of citizenship for the registration

It has been detected that applicants with fictitious data, documents, and personal details were among those who applied for the special fund, set up by the government to cushion small and medium scale businesses from the impact of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Data from the National Board and Small Scale Industries (NBSSI) showed that 5,200 out of a total of 450,000 applicants presented fake documentations to benefit from the GH¢1 billion Coronavirus Alleviation Programme (CAP) business support scheme.
As a result, the NBSSI, together with the CAP Steering Committee, has extended the deadline for applications from June 20 to June 26, 2020, to enable it to address all fraud-related cases before the fund will be disbursed.
The Executive Director of NBSSI, Mrs Kosi Yankey-Ayeh, who made this known at a press conference in Accra last Friday, said some of the fraud cases detected had been forwarded to security agencies for investigations.
An aspirant in the just-ended New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary primaries at Assin North constituency has gone back for all the bicycles he donated to delegates after an embarrassing defeat.
Eric Amankwa Blay had shared 250 bicycles to delegates prior to the election to each of the polling stations in the constituency.
Although he campaigned vigorously across the length and breadth of the constituency, his performance was abysmal when the final results were announced on Saturday.
Obviously disappointed, the results made Mr Blay and his supporters stormed into various houses of delegates across the constituency to retrieve the bicycles shared among party members to cast the ballots in his favour.
