The former president of Ghana,Flt Lt . Jerry John Rawlings assumed the political leadership in Ghana and still remains relevant in Ghana’s political history after leaving office almost two decades.

The low profile mother of Ghana’s longest serving leader came into limelight when her son Flt Lt J.J.Rawlings seized power in 1979 and went ahead to rule Ghana til 2001 when he handed power to the elected civilian successor Mr John Agekum Kuffuor of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
