News broke out a few hours ago that Ghana’s award-winning dancehall guru Shatta Wale made some new history by getting himself featured on the famous New York Times Square.
The majority of posts that surfaced on social media including one from himself suggested that he is the first ever Ghanaian entertainer to climb to such height and that indeed was enviable.
“#ShattaWaleOnTimeSquare NY, helooooo Shatta Movement where are you. Big ups to the team @Beatbopper @SeanKontractor We making history together w/ #TropicalHouseCruisesToJamaica reggae album compilation 🔥
AllOut #Dream,” Shatta Wale wrote alongside an Instagram post.
Shatta Wale if he appeared on the famous square deserves to be congratulated like Ghanaians would have done for other artistes.
However, a social media user who goes by the name Freddie Mawuli in a post on social media has revealed the dancehall king lied and that he was only spotted on a block which was a distant away from the main New York Times Square.
“Shatta Wale and fake hype and the media will also easily fall for it. Now, let me expose him on this his Times Square fake news 😂😂😂
The billboard is not at the popular Times Square, that location dey behind 😀😀😀
Its a block or two from Times Square and there is something about that sign post. It’s like having your board at round awudome cemetery but telling people your board is at circle.
It’s not hate, the fact must be said, that Shatta Wale was on was a just some Tv Station in Jamaica advertising on some small board located around Times Square area but not Time Square itself. The fact must be established.
According my source who is an investigative journalist in New York, If you have a kiosk around Times Square and you put any image in you can promote it and lie to people as being at Times Square and that is exactly why ShattaWake is doing. Even the screen Shatta had his video on was installed by a tiny shop recently.
He says the real time square street when you go down that lane with those big ones it will cost thousands every minute therefore they went to some shop around the Time Square area that rises that screen taking a few coins from people placing their ads on it.
Anyone who have lives in or has ever lived in New York will know this is a FACT.
You can call me a HATER but I careless. It won’t stop me from speaking my mind and exposing lies from Shatta Wale and cronies.” He wrote.
Freddie Mawuli sort to make a case but whether indeed Shatta Wale appeared on the famous Times Square’s exact spot or not, he appeared somewhere there and needs to be congratulated because he has moved a step up somewhere that no artiste has ever been yet.
